Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 858 amends Chapter 1 of Title 1 of O.C.G.A., in regard to general provisions relative to torts, by adding a new subsection (c). The subsection asserts that any person who, in good faith, rescues or attempts to rescue an incapacitated or endangered dog from a locked motor vehicle shall not be liable for any civil damages of the vehicle in regard to the attempts to rescue and ascertain medical treatment for the animal.
