SB 306 amends O.C.G.A. Article 34 of Chapter 1 of Title 10, relating to identity thief. O.C.G.A. § 10-1-911 removes telephone notice from the definition of notice, relating to informing consumers of a potential breach of security involving personal information. SB 306 prohibits a consumer credit reporting agency from charging a fee for the placement or permanent removal of a security freeze to a person notified under O.C.G.A. § 10-1-912.
