Staff Analysis of the Legislation
SB 318 amends O.C.G.A. Chapter 2 of Title 21 by providing that the offices of district attorneys, sheriffs, coroners, tax commissioners, and clerks of the superior court shall be elected through a nonpartisan election. Canidates for these offices are required to follow the necessary regualtions prescribed in subsection (c)(1) of O.C.G.A. ยง 21-2-132, to appear on the ballot.
