HB 961 amends O.C.G.A. Chapter 1 of Title 49, relating to
the provision of social services, by adding O.C.G.A. § 49-1-8, providing for
definitions. O.C.G.A. § 49-1-8 also allows for all units of state government to
take necessary steps to provide that all subsidies, to the extent allowed by
federal law, be available to kinship caregivers or the children in their care.
This subsidy amount shall be based on the eligibility of such children,
regardless of the income, age, or family of the caregiver. |
