HB 979 revises O.C.G.A. § 16-5-21, subsection (c), relating
to aggravated assault, by providing that any person who knowingly commits aggravated
assault upon an emergency health worker while the worker is engaged in
performing their official duties, shall be punished by imprisonment for not
less than five years nor more than twenty years. O.C.G.A. § 16-5-24 is also
revised, and provides the same for anyone convicted of aggravated battery upon
an emergency worker. |
