Staff Analysis of the Legislation
SR 1171 creates the Senate Judicial Qualifications Commission Study Committee to investigate ways that could improve transparency and accountability of the JQC. The committee shall consist of five members appointed by the President of the Senate, with the chairperson the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairperson. The chairperson shall file a report of the investigation to the date of abolishment. The committee shall stand abolished on December 1, 2016.
