Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 25 revises subsection (a) of O.C.G.A. § 21-2-220, by allowing an elector to make an application for electorship in person at the polling place for the precinct in such person’s residence on the day of the primary or election or at the registrar’s office during the period for advance voting. For a person who applies to vote at a polling place on the date of the primary or election, or during the period for advance voting, they shall be issued a provisional ballot. Persons waiting in line to complete voter registration applications at the time of the closing of the polls shall be permitted to complete registration and be issued a provisional ballot.
