Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 28 revises O.C.G.A. § 21-2-417 by stipulating that a first time voter shall present one or more types of identification forms from the following list: a Georgia driver’s license; a valid Georgia identification card; a valid U.S. passport; a valid employee identification card containing a photograph of the elector and issued by the United States government or entity of this state; a valid military identification card; or a tribal identification card. For an absentee ballot, the elector shall present one or more of these forms at the registrar’s office or absentee ballot clerk’s office.
