SB 47 amends O.C.G.A. Title 16, Article 1 of Chapter 10 of Title 17, and § 15-11-2 by revising relevant subsections to include provisions that any individual who commits the offense of simple assault against a person intentionally selected because of such person’s race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national origin shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature.
