HB 98 amends Article 2 of the O.C.G.A., relating to appellate practice to provide for direct appeals and appeals which require an application for appeals to the appellate courts on matters pertaining to courts-martial. Included in the Act there is a provision to amend Chapter 2 of Title 38 of the O.C.G.A., relating to military affairs, so as to repeal and reenact Article 5, the Georgia Code of Military Justice. HB 98 offers an update of the Georgia Code of Military Justice,
which is the first since 1955. The revision would bring the Georgia Code in line with existing Federal Codes. HB 98 also provides changes in
verbiage to Article 2 of Chapter 6 of Title 5 of the O.C.G.A., without invoking substantive legal changes. |
