Staff Analysis of the Legislation

 

SB 32 amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the OCGA by changing the date that candidates for the office of judge of the superior court, Judge of the Court of Appeals, or Justice of the Supreme Court, judicial office, local school board, office of a consolidated government, federal office, state office, or county office must be submitted to the fourth Monday in April. SB 32 also changes the date that candidates of any political party can be nominated for public offices for the primaries to the third Tuesday in July. In addition, the rules and additions for both even-year and run-off elections are explained.
