Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 78 amends section 10-5-2 of the OCGA by allowing court costs to be collected by the purchaser in a civil liabilities case involving securities. Also, before selling a federally covered security in Georgia the seller must have a notice of filing and a copy of a federal registration statement filed with the SEC, a consent to service of process and must pay a fee of $250.00.
