Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 124 amends Article 4 of Chapter 9 of Title 16 and Article 1 of Chapter 4 of Title 49 of the O.C.G.A. by revising terminology that incorporates the term "food instrument" to include all forms of documents that can be used to receive public assistance. The purpose is to expand the legal scope of fradulent acts of receiving or attempting to receive non-entitled public assistance beyond the use of just food stamps coupons.
