Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 57 amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the OCGA by adding that all costs for a special primary or special election to fill a vacant public office shall be reimbursed to the local government via application to the state through the Secretary of State. This does not include costs that are offset by distribution of qualifying fees under Code Section 21-2-131.
