Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 164 amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A. to specify that only elected holders of a public office being sought can be designated as the incumbent. A candidate seeking a party nomination for an office which he or she holds by virtue of being appointed to fill a vacancy shall not be designated as an incumbent.
