HB 250 amends Article 5 of Chapter 5 of Title 49 of the O.C.G.A by adding a new Code section, 49-5-115, allowing any department, employing an individual to provide short-term care for a child in the custody of the department, to accept a letter from the Department of Early Care and Learning stating that the individual has satisfactorily passed a fingerprint and background check in the last 12 months pursuant to Article 2 of Chapter 1A of Title 20; in lieu of any required or department regulated background screening and fingerprint check.
