SB 170 seeks to amend Chapter 5 of Title 49 of the O.C.G.A. to establish an official volunteer certification system for volunteers who want to engage in foster care. Through the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), the system would require training, evaluations, and criminal background checks for potential volunteers. DFCS would report to the General Assembly regarding the progress in implementing the adoption policies and procedures set by the new system and also make use of an advisory committee. |
