Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 434 amends § 22-1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated by adding a new code section, 22-1-15, which provides for definitions; and sets out the procedure for filing a petition with superior court of a county for the state or any governing authority to take ownership of a piece of property under the powers of eminent domain. Code section 22-1-2 is amended by inserting the new code section as the new standard.
