Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 433 amends § 44-7-53 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated by making writs of possession issued by the court effective for 30 days after they have been issued. Writs of possession that are issued while a case is being finally determined on appeal will be effective for 30 days after the date that the case has been finalized. The landlord shall be in full possession of the premises upon the execution of the writ.
