Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 228 amends Code Section 40-6-6 and 40-8-94 of the O.C.G.A. Makes it a misdemeanor to and includes a monetary fine for unauthorized operation of an emergency vehicle with flashing lights, a siren, whistle, or bell. A third conviction becomes a felony offense and results in a driver's license suspension. This now also applies to elected officials.
