HB 491 amends Code Section 35-3-37 of the OCGA by allowing those convicted of a felony with a sentence of 10 years or less, to petition the court to restrict access to their files if they have not been arrested for five years after their sentence. New exceptions to this rule include family violence battery, false imprisonment, stalking, and aggravated stalking.
