HB 642 amends Title 36 of the OCGA. It states that the
governing authority of any municipality or county which has an area in which a
surface transportation project is located may create or renew a special improvement
district. To do this, a petition must be signed by 51% of taxpayers. The petition
should have a plan that has the budget to implement the plan, formula for
imposing special improvement tax, the categories of supplemental services, a
map of the improvement district, and the structure of the administrative board. |
