Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 406 establishes the Georgia Long-Term Care Background Check program which will require comprehensive criminal background checks for owners, employees, and applicants of various long-term care, hospice, and home care providers. The background check will be required for new applicants beginning on October 1, 2019 and existing employees and owners will have till January 1, 2021 to provide the required information to the Department of Community Health.
