Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 403 amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A. relating to primaries and elections.  The bill bans the use of direct recording electronic voting systems in primaries or elections after January 1, 2024. The systems will be replaced by electronic ballot marker devices that do not compute or retain votes, but instead use technology to mark a paper ballot after receiving input from an elector.
