Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 910 amends Part 3 of §3-11-16 of the O.C.G.A. It prohibits sexual extortion by clarifying that if a person violates the Code section but does not sexually extort, he/she will be punished with a misdemeanor of high and aggravated nature. If a person does engage in sexual extortion, he/she is guilty of a felony punished by imprisonment between 1 and 15 years.
