Staff Analysis of the Legislation
HB 907 amends ยง5-45 of the O.C.G.A. It allows the Governor to appoint an individual to the office of district attorney in the case of vacancy and for that individual to take part in a special election more than six months after his/her appointment. If the individual is elected, he/she begins a new four-year term on Jan. 1 immediately following the special election.
