HB 972 amends Chapter 11 of Title 15 and Code Section 49-5-8 of the O.C.G.A. Part I allows the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) of the Department of Human Services to offer extended care youth services to youths between 18 and 21 years of age under certain circumstances. Part II allows these extended youth services to receive federal reimbursement. The final version of this bill includes language from HB 927 on the extension of care youth services to those aged 18 to 21.
