Staff Analysis of the Legislation
SB 10 would reclassify the possession of less than two ounces of Marijuana as a misdemeanor. The bill further states that those found guilty of possessing one half an ounce or less would be punished with a fine not exceding $300. Those found guilty of possessing between one half and two ouces would be punished with imprisoment or community service not exceeding twelve months, a fine of not more than $1000, or both.
