Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 261 amends Article 2 of Chapter 1 of Title 42 of
the O.C.G.A relating to the naming and function of the Sexual Offender
Registration Review Board. Under this legislation the board would be renamed to
the Sexual Offender Risk Review Board. This board would be incorporated with
the GBI for administrative and practical purposes. The legislation allows or
those classified as level 2 offenders to receive reevaluation by a panel if
they chose. Finally, the bill specifies employment regulations and distances
that such convicted individuals must remain from facilities and areas where
minors congregate. |
