HB 472 moves to amend Title 15 of the O.C.G.A to revise procedures concerning the removal of children from foster care. The bill expands the option for juvenile court judges to place children in a temporary alternate setting before removing them from their home and placing them in foster care. The bill lays out the option and the process for placement with fictive kin and other alternatives and also details the court requirements and findings to perform such actions. This legislation supplements the federal Family First Prevention Services Act.
