HB 734 amends Title 10 of the OCGA to create the Journalism Ethics Board and outline its composition, duties, and powers. Initial appointments and term limits to the board will be selected by a nine-member appointments board chosen by the chancellor of University System of Georgia. The board’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, creating guidelines for factual and ethical reporting and developing a process for accreditation and investigation of journalists and new organizations. All information from the This board is immune from civil liabilities arising from its members’ duties.
