HB 881 amends Title 19 of the OCGA to revise provisions relating to safe places for newborns. In multiple code sections in Title 19, the amendment adds ambulance providers as an authorized location to leave a newborn child. The amendment establishes an eight-member committee that will file a report to the General Assembly by December 31, 2020 with recommendations on the use of newborn safety incubators. The committee will be terminated 30 days after the report is filed and the code section shall be repealed on June 30, 2021.
