Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 883 amends Title 49 of the OCGA to add a new chapter regarding the creation of a Legislative Gang Prevention and Intervention Commission. This commission will consist of 14 members whom will serve for no more than two consecutive two-year terms. Additionally, members shall serve without compensation. The commission will be responsible for submitting an annual strategic report on the prevention of criminal gang participation by youth and to provide informational resources to social services and community organizations on this matter.
