Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 1020 amends Title 40 of the OCGA to reduce the number of hours required from 20 hours to 16 for the intervention component of DUI risk reduction programs. The Department of Driver Services shall credit any DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program towards a driver’s license reinstatement requirements for a limited driving permit. Completion of DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program can be part of the punishment for specified driving offenses.
