HB 1082 amends Article 1A of Chapter 11 of Title 40 of the OCGA to change the required number of days a notification must be sent to all owners of an abandoned motor vehicle from 10 to 15 days after retrieving such vehicle. The bill prohibits the additional collection of taxes, fees, or surcharges for specified abandoned motor vehicle fees by a court or clerk of court. The court receiving a properly filed petition to foreclose a motor vehicle lien must assign a number to the petition no later than three business days after filing
