Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 72 amends Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the OCGA to require that county registrars obtain updated death records from coroners, probate court judges, and funeral homes every month and use this information to remove individuals from the list of electors. Under this bill, coroners, probate court judges, and funeral homes are to provide this information free of charge.
