SB1051- high quality teacher pilot program (Allen)

This bill appropriates $400,000 in FY20, FY21, and FY22 to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) to provide grants or scholarships for certified teachers to gain additional credentials or certification in high-need content areas. ADE may retain up to 3% of the money for administrative costs, and the pilot program ends in 2023.

Requires ADE to use $100,000 of these funds each FY for scholarships or grants to qualified applicants in counties with a population of less than 375,000 people.
