Under current law, unless specifically prohibited by statute, private schools are subject to the same county and municipal zoning regulations as other private entities. School districts are not subject to zoning, and charter schools have some protection from local zoning regulations. This law prohibits a municipality or a county from adopting or enforcing a land use regulation that requires the property on which a nongovernment primary or secondary school operates to be larger than one acre. |
