Staff Analysis of the Legislation

Under current law, districts are required to develop guidelines, information, and forms for students and their parents on the risks of continued participation in athletic activities after a concussion. This bill requires district school governing boards to develop guidelines, information, and forms on the dangers of heat-related illnesses, sudden cardiac death, and prescription opioid use. Each year, the student athlete and their parent must be provided with this information. |
