SB1149- student suspension; admission This bill will permit a district to refuse to admit a pupil
who is currently or in the process of being suspended from another school. States that if a district that admits a student who is currently
or in the process of being suspended from another school, they may place that student
in an alternative-to-suspension program. Requires all districts to admit a student if they have completed
all suspension time. Requires charter schools to: 1.
Establish an alternative-to-suspension program
and to adopt policies regarding the requirements for participation. 2.
Transfer a student who qualifies for an alternative-to-suspension
program to a location isolated from other students. |
