SUMMARY:
Dependent children of military children stationed in Georgia on active duty shall be deemed to meet the residency requirement for purposes of HOPE scholarships and grants.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Dependent children of military personnel stationed in Georgia on active duty shall be deemed to meet the residency requirement for purposes of HOPE scholarships and grants.

POINTS TO CONSIDER:

  • Creates a special category of entitlement for the HOPE Scholarship based on being children of military personnel stationed in Georgia.
  • Removes the eligibility requirement of being enrolled in a Georgia school for one year.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

Upon approval by the Governor or upon becoming law without such approval.
