SUMMARY: LC 33 3280

Current law allows public school students to enroll in another school in the district if the school has available space.  This bill requires that permanent space be available in order to allow such transfer.

REQUIREMENTS:

Permanent space does not include temporary buildings, portable buildings or trailers.

POINTS TO CONSIDER:

Clarifies that available space shall be in permanent facilities.  Allows systems to more accurately determine if transfer space is available.

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Upon approval of the Governor or by becoming law without such approval.
