SUMMARY:  Removes restrictions on carrying certain weapons in parks, historic sites, or recreational areas.  In addition, no license would be required for carrying handguns in these areas.

POINTS TO CONSIDER: Such changes in the current law could impact school districts' use of these areas, including areas where joint use agreements with other governments exist.

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon approval by the General Assembly and the Governor.
