Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SUMMARY: LC 33 4931  Requires that training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation be included in health and physical education classes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • training shall be based on the instructional program established by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross,or another nationally recognized program
  • students are to study and practice resuscitation at least once before graduation

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Upon approval by the General Assembly and Governor.
