SUMMARY:

Requires nationalbackground checks on all employees working in any licensed childcare facility.Currently, only facility directors are required to have national backgroundchecks, which means that people with criminal records from other states cancome to Georgia and find work caring for our children. Nationalbackground checks are required of public school employees and should berequired of those carindg for children in childcare facilities as well.

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon approval by the General Assembly and Governor.
