Allow placement of video cameras in special education classrooms.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • authorizes the Department of Education to develop criteria for the placement of video cameras in special education self-contained classrooms to determine the impact on safety for possible state-wide implementation 
  • participation by local schools or school systems is voluntary
  • parents shall receive notice prior to placement of cameras
  • recordings shall be retained for one year 

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon approval by the General Assembly and Governor.
