SUMMARY:  LC 41 0541

Amends current code related to carrying and possession of firearms to require the completion of firearms safety training within three years of applying for an initial weapons carry license (exceptions: peace officers, on active or reserve duty in armed forces, a certified firearms safety instructor. 

EFFECTIVE DATE:  January 1, 2017 if passed by the General Assembly and approved by the Governor.
