Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SUMMARY:  LC 36 2846  A constitutional amendment stating that a person appointed by the Governor to fill a vacancy of any unexpired term of a public office shall not be designated on any ballot as the incumbent for such office until he/she has been elected, qualified, and served a full term for such office.

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Upon approval by 2/3 vote of the House and Senate and approval by the voters.
