Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SUMMARY:  LC 33 6341   Requires school personnel to develop and implement a documented behavior correction plan, including specific, measurable, attainable, and timely goals and strategies for a student in grades K-3 that has been placed in:

  • out-of-school suspension for the third time during the same school year
  • out-of-school suspension for a second time during a four week period within the same school year, or
  • an alternative education program 

EFFECTIVE DATE:  July 1, 2016
