Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SUMMARY: LC 41 0716 LC 33 6562S Senate Resolution would create the "Senate Strengthening Parental Participation in Education Study Committee" to ensure that a child's education is a responsibility shared by the school, family and community. 

POINTS TO CONSIDER: Committee would consist of five members of the Senate appointed by the president of the Senate. The committee would study the conditions, needs, issues and problems related to policies and programs designed to increase more effective parental and guardian involvement in children's education. 

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Upon approval by the Senate.
